THE COMMISSIONERS for the erection of Public Buildings hereby notify that they have awarded the Premiums for the Designs submitted to them under the following mottoes, and are prepared to pay the amounts on application to them : I. FOE GOVERNMENT HOUSE : Ist Premium, of £2OO, to the motto IX (in a circle). 2nd Premium, of £IOO, to motto “ Yours in haste.” XI. FOE THE SUPREME COURT-HOUSE : Ist Premium, of £2OO, to the motto “Fiat Justitia.” 2nd Premium, of £IOO, to the motto “ Equity.” 111. EOR THE POST OFFICE AND CUSTOM HOUSE (COMBINED.) Ist Premium, of £2OO, to the motto “In Hoc Signo Vinces.” 2nd Premium, of £IOO, to “ Light of other days.” On opening the letters of the successful competitors, The motto IX (in a circle) was found to be that of Mr. Rumsay, of Dunedin ; and “ Yours in haste,” Mr. Baston, of Hobart Town. The motto “Fiat Justitia,” Mr. Honey, of Sydney ; and “Equity,” Mr. Clark, of Melbourne. 'The motto “In Hoc Signo Vinces,” Mr. Easton of Hobart Town ; and “ Light of other days” (no letter was found for this motto).
