September 17— Janet, schooner, 28 tons, Toke, for Wairoa, with 1 qr.-cask rum, 3 cwt. sugar, 10 cwt, flour, Carroll; 1 prch, 1 box glass, 2 cwt. flour, 1 do. sugar, 1 bdl. wool-bales, 1 halfchest tea, 1 cwt. soap, 1 keg rum, 5 pkgs. sundries, Riddell brothers, 12 iron pots, 1 coil rope 1 cwt. soap, 2 do. sugar, 3 do. flour, 2 axes, 1 box pipes, I box candles, 1 case hair oil, 6 pks. sundries, Peakman. September 11—Lady Bird, s.s., 220 tons, Benner, for Auckland, with 81- bags clover seed, B Dylan ; 1 portmanteau, Seblcy, and original cargo from Southern Ports. Passengers—Mrs. Gallien, Capt. Minnet, Messrs. A. Riley, M’Nalty and Last, CLEARED. September 19— ZiUnh, schooner, 68 tons, Sullivan, for Auckland, in ballast. The s.s. Ladybird, left Wellington, on the loth inst, at 1 o’clock p.m., with light winds and calm sea to the Capo. The wind then got up N.N.E., with strong sea. She arrived here about 8 p.m. on Friday evening. The Aeukiri.—The s.s. Ahuriri, Capt. Shuttleworth, arrived from Greenock on the Ist inst. She left this port on Friday, the 2nd inst., at 9 p.m., and arrived at Nelson, on the 3rd, at 10'30 a.m. She was put on the hard, her bottom was cleaned, and she received four coats of paint. She was taken off on the Bth, and left (lie same day, at 2 - 30 p.m., arrived at Pieton at 10-45 p.m. Left Pieton on the 9th Sept., at 9 - 40 a m., and arrived in this port at 3’30 p.m. She is represented to be an excellent sea boat, and steams recluded on Friday last, the 2nd inst., between J. G. Kinross, Esq., hon. sec. of the 11.8.5. N. Co., and the Directors of the N.Z.S.N. Co., Limited] in reference to the purchase of the s.s. Ahuriri. W. Lyon, Esq., one of the Directors left by the Queen for Napier on the sth inst., to complete the purchase, which in every respect may be said to bo a gratifying event for all concerned, for the H. Co., and for the shareholders of the N.Z.S.N. Co. Wo understand this fine steamer will take the place of the Wong a IFonga, on the West Coast service between this port, Wanganui, Taranaki, Raglan, Waikato, and Manukau. The last named vessel will be despatched to Napier and Auckland, and upon her arrival at Auckland will commence service between that port and the Northern settlements, calling once a week at the Hot Springs and Coromandel.— lndependent , Sept. 13.
