Wreck of the Canternhrx.—We have been informed that the schooner Canterbury, Captain Ogilvie, from Napier, bound to Wellington, went ashore in Palliser Bay, on Saturday evening last, about 6 o’clock. We are glad to learn, however, that all hands are saved. The Canterbury was a schooner of 37 tons, and was once a constant trader between Wellington and Port Cooper. She sailed from Napier on Saturday, tho Gth instant, for this port, in ballast, but remained in the roadstead up to the Gth, wind bound. A whaleboat, with a crew of five hands, started last night for the scene of disaster. We are glad to say that the vessel was uninjured.— Wellington Independent, August 18.
