ARRIVAL OF THE “RANGOON.”
The long-looked for Rangoon made lier appearance on Saturday last, and was boarded by the pilot the same evening. Yesterday (Sunday), the passengers, to the number of 92 we believe, were landed, and the “ traps” were engaged the greater part of the day in conveying them to the Emigration* Barracks and to*the Royal Hotel, where they” are at present lodged. By a Gazette issued this morning, we see that a commission has been appointed to enquire into and report upon the treatment the immigrants, received whilst on board the Rangoon. The following gentlemen are appointed Commissioners James Gordon, Esq., J.P. ; the Hon. H. R. Russell; J. A. Smith, Esq., J.P. ; Samuel Begg, Esq., J.P. ; J. H. Campbell, Esq., J.P.
