IN .PURSUANCE of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled, “ The Provincial Elections Act, 1858,” I, John Russell Duncan, Esq., Returning Officer for Lie Electoral District of Waipukurau, do hereby give notice that by virtue of a Writ bearing date the 24th June, 1864, issued under the hand of his honor the Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, an election will be held for the return of one qualified person to serve as a member of the Provincial Council of Hawke’s Bay for the said Electoral District, in lieu of T. P. Russell Esq., resigned; and that the nomination of candidates will take place at Mr. T. P. Russell’s Wool-shed, Waipukurau, on Tuesday, the sth July, and that the Poll (if necessary) will take place on Wednesday, the 6th July, and that I shall declare the state of the Poll on Thuesday, the 7th July. The names of Persons whose Christian names or places of abode, or the nature of whose qualifificaiions shall be wholly 7 omitted, where by law required to be specified in the List, or whose places of abode, or the nature or description of whose qualifications are insufficiently described for the purpose of being identified, will be expunged ; unless the matter so omitted or insufficiently described, be supplied to the satisfaction of the Revising officer, before he shall have completed the revision of such List of Voters.
