AUCKLAND. LIVE STOCK SIAEKET.—Week ending May 7. Mr. Buckland reports that the depression in price of cattle and horses noted in previous report, has considerably increased during the past week. On Saturday last there was no fresh stock brought forward, and the business transacted was very limited. 18 horses were sold, principally at low rates. Pressed oaten hay, wetted in landing, brought from £8 ss. to £9 ss. per ton; maize, 6s. per bushel; oats, ss. 6d. to ss. 9d.: and bran, Is lid. At the Newmarket Yards, Thursday, a few head of fatted Auckland cattle were offered without any bidder being obtained. Privately those offered of the cargo of the ‘ Hydra’ were disposed of at £l2 10s. each. The cargo *of the ‘ Lombard’ was withdrawn. The sheep ex ‘ Corio’ were sold to several buyers, at prices varying from 15s to 17s 6d each. Fat sheep were in fair supply, and without alteration in price.
