LOCAL INTELLIGENCE.
Troops for Napier. —We understand that 300 of tlie 14th may be expected to arrive here shortly from Auckland in the Alexandra steamer, and that the head-quar-ters of the regiment will be stationed here. Napier Militia. —The following appointments appeared in a New Zealand Gazette, dated May 14:—Lieutenant Donald Golian, to bo Captain ; date of commission, 4th May, 18G4. Ensign James Davis Canning to be Lieutenant ; date of commission, 4th May, 1864. Ensign Alexander Grant to be Lieutenant; date of commission, sth May, 1864. Bosu ell Danby Danvers to be Ensign ; date of commission, 4th May, 1864. Sydney Johnston to be Ensign ; date of commission, sth May, 1864. James Wilson to be Ensign: date of commission, 6tb May, 1864. Captain John Curling, is to be considered on the unattached list. Postmasters.— Tbg following appoint-
merits appear in the same Gazette:—Frederick AshtoaLincoln, to ba Postmaster at Clive, trom Ist April, 1864. Charles Nairn, to be Postmaster at Pourerere.
