IN pursuance of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled “ The Provincial Elections Act, 1858,” I, George Andrew Oliver, Esq.,RcturningOfficerfortheEleotoral District of the Napier Country District, Do hereby give notice that by virtue of a Writ bearing date the 19th February, 1864, issued under the hand of his Honor the Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, an Election will be held for the return of one qualified person to serve as n member of the Provincial Council of Hawke’s Bay for the said Electoral District, in consequence of the seat of Octavius Lawes Woodthorpe Bousfieid, Esq., in the said Provincial Council for the Napier Country District having been vacated by his acceptance of a contract on account of the public Service of the Province, and that the nomination of Candidates will take place at Noon, at Mr. H. S. Tifien’s barn, Greenmedbws, on Wednesday, the 2nd March, 1864, and that the Poll (if necessary), will take place on Monday, the 7th March, 1864, and that I will declare the state of the Poll at Noon, at Mr. H.
