AUCKLAND. LIVE-STOCK JIAEKET. —Week ending February 5. Mr. Buckland's Report. At the Triangle, on Tuesday, there was a large supply of imported cattle, and scarcely the usual attendance. Biddings were dull, and the prices realized were from £2 to £3 per head less forgrown steers than have hitherto ruled, The cargoes of the Harriet Rutgers and Ann Saunderson realized about £ll each. Our own country cattle were from 10s. to 15s. per head lower than have lately ruled. No sheep were offered. At Newmarket, on Thursday, there was a fair supply of fat stock, with no variation in price. Grown store cattle were lower than previous week 20s. to 255. each. Calves were plentiful, and in proportion to their quality brought higher prices than have lately ruled, ss. to 10s. Dairy cows brought from £l4 10s. to £lB each ; heifers in calf, £9 10s. to £lO each. A full market of fat sheep sold freely, and maintained their price. Store Sheep, particularly 'merino wethers, much lower. One pen was sold at 16s each ; the remainder were withdrawn. Messrs. Styak & Hunter’s Report. Horses. —The show of horses this week was very good and several changing hands at hi<di prices. We sold heavy draughts at £75 to £tfo. A lot of pack-horses were disposed of at prices varying from £3O to £4B 15s. ; good hacks at £8 10s. to £2O. Fat Cattle. —The demand not nearly r so’ good as on previous weeks, and consequently there is a noticeable decline in prices. We sold bullocks at £l2 to £l6 ; cows, at £ll 12s 9d to £l4; a team of four working bullocks in high condition fetching £BB. Fat Sheep and Ramis. —There was a plentiful supply, and the quality generally good. We sold sheep at 18s to 395; lambs, 17s to 25s 6d. Dairy and Store Cattle. —The supply of dairy cows was small in quantity and inferior in quali- 1 ty. They fetched £l2 15s to £ls ; young store stock in much request, at high prices varying from £4 to £5 5s ; cows sold at £8 17s to £l2. Stare Sheep. —A lot of sheep and several of lambs were disposed of; the s heep at 18s 6d; lambs at 12s. to 14s.
