Jockeys riding in any other colors than those named at time of entry, or wilfully making a false start, will be fined one guinea, to be paid before the horse starts. The first race each day, to start at twelve o’clock, precisely. The bell to be rung a quarter of an hour before ; each race. Races to be run under the rules of the Newmarket club. Three horses to start in each race, or no public money will be given. Second horse to save his stake in each race, except the consolation. The second horse will save his stake where three run. Mares and geldings allowed three pounds. No person will be allowed to enter a horse unless he be a subscriber of at least Two Guineas to the Fund. These races will be run in strict accordance with the Laws of the Waipukurau Course. All entries made under sealed cover, addressed to the Secretary at the Tavistock Hotel, on Wednesday, March 9, not later than 9 p.m. The amount of fee to be enclosed in each, aud the ago of the horse and color’s of the rider to be distinctly stated.
