Entries to bo made immediately after the Scurry Handicap. To be by the Stewards or whom they may appoint. 11ULES: — Mares and Geldings allowed four pounds. All entries to be under sealed cover, and to be addressed to the Secretary, at Mr. J. Gill’s Masonic Hotel, Napier, on or before Saturday, 27th February, 1864, not later than 9 p.m. Age of horses, and colors of riders, to be stated at time of entry. No person who is not a subscriber to the amount of Two Guineas, shall be allowed to enter a horse. Jockeys riding in any other colors than those named at time of entry, or wilfully making a false start, will be fined one guinea, to be paid before the horse starts. The first race each day, to start at twelve o’clock, precisely. The bell to,bo‘rung a quarter of an hour before each race. Races to be run under the rules of the Newmarket club. Three horses to start in each race, or no public money will be given. Second horse to save his stake in each race, except the consolation.
