A Newfoundland paper, in speaking of the House of Assembly or that island, eulogises it in the following unequivocal language “ Take them for all in all, from their speaker downwards we do not suppose that a greater set of low-lived and lawless scoundrels, aa public men, can be found under the canopy of heaven.” A large section of the rock on Canada side of the Falls of Niagara has disappeared, and increased the horse-show appearance of the falls.
