LOCAL INTELLIGENCE.

Concert. —Mr. Worgan, as will be seen frQm our advertising columns, intends giving the good folks of Napier a musical entertainment on Wednesday evening next, on which occasion the available local talent, which has recently been reinforced by two or three good voices, will render him their assistance. It is expected that this will be one of the best concerts of its kind ever given in Napier. Defence Force Freak. — On Sunday last, about thirty men belonging to the above named corps obtained permission to take a ride during the afternoon; but as they did not return at the appointed time, a second lot were sent in pursuit, and secured them at various places, including Napier, Meanee Bridge, Havelock, and Ngawakatatara, and brought them all back safely to camp. This affair savors somewhat of a laxity of discipline, or something wrong somewhere.
