The following shipping intelligence is extracted from the latest Loudon papers:— The following vessels are reported in the Home News, May 26, as having sailed from London for New Zealand. —For Otago— New Great Britain, May 1; Crimea, May 4. For Canterbury—Captain Cook, May 7. For Auckland— Portland, April 29 ; Queen of Beauty, May 5. For Wellington— William Carey, May 17. The following were loading for New Zealand : —For Auckland— Maggie Millar, Tghurnia, Queen of Mersey. Helveylen, Ganges. For Canterbury— Victory, Zambezi, Accrington, Lancashire Witch, Pekin. For Wellington—- Asterope, John Bunyan. For Wellington and Napier, Alliance. The following vessels belonging to Messrs. Shaw & Saville’s New Zealand line of Packets, are advertised to sail for various New Zealand ports at the respective dates : Annie Wilson ....Auckland May 28 Ida Ziegler Auckland J une 10 Asterope Wellington May 25 Cashmere Nelson & Taranaki. .May 25 Accrington Canterbury May 31 Lancashire Witch ...Canterbury June 15 Sir R. Hie ship Owen Glendower, Captain Norris, which left the Downs on the 18th May, with passengers for Auckland, put into Plymouth on May 25, leaky.— Home News. The British Croton sailed from the Mersey on the‘l6th May for Canterbury, New Zealand, with upwards of 350 emigrants on board. Nearly 200 consisted of the families of operatives from the Lancashire cotton districts. — Ibid. Extraordinary Running by the Clipper Ship Lightning. —The Liverpool Laity Post, speaking of this clipper, says :—“ This ship made the passage from Victoria to Liverpool in 63 days, a feat never accomplished by any other ship. In one day she ran by observation the extraordinary distance of 430 knots, or 501 statute miles, be•ing upwards of 21 miles per hour.”
