By the barque Lion, Capt. Sinclair, from Newcastle, N.S.W., we (New Zealand Ad-

vertiser; have received news from Australia to the 4th inst.

It has been ascertained that six ions of gunpowder had been sent from Sydney to New Zealand for the use of the Maories. Information has been forwarded to Auckland of the fact. 100. troops were ordered for this Colony.

A ministerial crisis had occurred at Melbourne and a new Ministry had been appointed.
