LOCAL INTELLIGENCE.
“Patchwork.” —Mr. Ellis, assisted by Miss StClair and Mr. Rutter, gave an entertainment on Thursday evening, to a full house. Mr. Ellis’s characters were well-sus-tained, especially his Irishman, which drew forth several encores. Miss StClair and Mr. Ellis gave great satisfaction “on the light fantastic toe.” They gave a second entertainment last night, and, as will be seen in our advertising columns, will appear again this evening in a new programme. Ensign Howat, of the 14th Regiment, is under orders to proceed to Napier.
Further Prorogration of the General Assembly.—A New Zealand Gazette was published on the 29th June, in which the General Assembly is declared by the Governor to be further prorogued from the 30th June, until the 27th July next.
