AT A PUBLIC MEETING, called by advertisement, of persons disposed to participate in the movement in progress for the erection of a National Monument to the memory of Daniel O’Connell, held at the Stae Hotel, Napier, on Monday the Ist of June, — It was moved by Mr. John Buchanan, seconded by Mr. Doherty, and carried unanimously,— “.That this meeting cordially sympathises with the movement in Ireland and elsewhere, having for its object the erection of some suitable Monument to the memory of Daniel O’Connell; and resolves that subscriptions be taken at once, and lists for the receipt of further sums be now left with Mr. Maney at the Meanee Hotel, and with Mr. M’Nalty at the Star Hotel, Napier, who with Mr. James Doherty be appointed a Committee to remit the sums so subscribed to the Dublin Committee.” Mr. Buchanan was appointed Hon. The names of Persons whose Christian Names or Places of Abode, or the Nature of whoso Qualifications shall be wholly omitted, where by law required to be specified in the List, or whose Places of Abode, or the nature or description of whose Qualifications are insufficiently described for the purpose of being identified, will be expunged ; unless the matter so omitted or insufficiently described, be supplied to the satisfaction of the Revising Officer, before he shall have completed the Revision of such List of Yoters.
