COMMERCIAL NEWS.
AUCKLAND STOCK MAKKET. At Newmarket on Thursday there was a full supply of fat cattle, many of them of large size bringing £l7 to £23 ; last prices for best quality were fully maintained ; second quality were from 13s. to 30s. per head lower than last week ; 82 head were sold. There were no dairy cows at the calving brought forward, about 120 head of dairy cattle, from one to three months from their calving sold full £1 each lower than of late, and a pen of well-bred heifers were withdrawn ; store cattle were scarce, and not of prime quality ; prices were in favor of the purchaser ; a pen of store sheep, mixed ewes and hoggets in very low condition brought 18s. 3d. each. Fat sheep were in limited numbers, and not of very prime quality ; they are lower than a few weeks since, consequent on the large number if pigs in the market ; 119 were sold, and 3 pens withdrawn ; a fair supply of pigs, many of them of large size obtained an advance over last market rates ; 35 were sold. —Auckland Weekly News and Farmers' Gazette.
