CORRESPONDENCE.

To the Editor of the Hawke's Bay Times. Sir, —A friend of mine writes to me asking whether there is not a good opening for. an auctioneer in the town. I shall feel obliged by your answering this question if you can. I am, &c., Enquirer. Napier, 2nd July, 1863. [Yes, certainly ; there is an excellent opening for a steady, sharp, respectable gentleman as auctioneer here. We have only one now, and he is in the pay of the Government, and is therefore anything but popular with the people. This person is Provincial Treasurer pro. tem., and as that officer possesses the power to grant auction licenses, it is more than probable that your friend will have a hard fight before he can get started.—Ed. H.B.T .]
