WAIROA.
[From a Correspondent j
June 16. You will be glad to hear that the whales this season are making a very good show; several have been seen off the Wairoa and up theßay; there have been two taken. Thismust be very gratifying to the Napier merchants, as the first whale taken was by Mr. Campbell and party, who receive all their supplies from Napier. The renowned whaler Shilo has just returned from a visit to Napier, and intends joining Mr. Campbell's party. Some of the Natives here are talking of trying their hand also, but we fear it is only talking, as boats, tackle,&c, are at their service, but they do not seem inclined to move, or take advantage of it. June 18. The Bishop has just arrived here, and intends to visit Moliaka and all the villages in his district. He intends to open the Native Church in the Wairoa on Sunday the 21st inst.
