AT A PUBLIC MEETING, called by advertisement, of persons disposed to participate in the movement in progress for the erection of a National Monument to the memory of Daniel O’Connell, held at the Stab Hotel, Napier, on Monday the Ist of June, — It was moved by Mr. John Buchanan, seconded Dy Mr. UoHerty, and carried unanimously,— “.That this meeting cordially sympathises with the movement in Ireland and elsewhere, having for its object tho erection of some suitable Monument to the memory of Daniel O’Connell; and resolves that subscriptions be taken at once, and lists for the receipt of further sums be now left with Mr. Manpy at the Meanee Hotel, and with Mr. M’Nalty at mo Star Hotel, Napier, who with Mr. James Doherty be appointed a Committee to remit the sums so subscribed to tho Dublin Committee.” Mr, Buchanan was appointed Hon.
