RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT.

June 1 . [Before J. Curling , Esq., E.M.] Richard Roberts was fined 6s. for drun-

keimess. John McCarthy was fined 10s. for the some offence. Both fines paid. Jcki 2 . William M’Donnell fined ss. for drunkenness. The defendant was fined 10s. on account of his violent conduct when taken to the lockup. Frederick Dyett, of Clive, Publican, appeared to answer to an information laid against him for a breach of the “ Sale of Spirits Ordinance,” for having sold 3 bottles of brandy to an aboriginal native, Te Matenga, of Waimarama. The informant in this case was a native, Henare Tomoana, but as he did not appear to support his information, the case was dismissed.
