LOCAL INTELLIGENCE

Supreme Court Sittings.—A Gazette of April 21st contains a proclamation appointing sittings of the Supreme Court to be held at Napier on the first of February and the first of August in each year, or as soon after the said days respectively as conveniently may be.

By a General Government Gazette of the 21st April, we find that G. A. Oliver, Esq, has been appointed Revising Officer for the Electoral Districts of Napier and Clive. Watroa. —The Effort, schooner, loading for Auckland, and the Gipsy for Napier, have been delayed the last ten days, in consequence of the very heavy sea which has been along this part of the coast, and which has caused the Wairoa river to block up. The natives are this day (April 30) trying to break it open, the river having overflowed the bank.— Com mu n icated.
