Mr. Peter Bourice has been gazetted to be Chief Posi master at. Napier from the Ist of April next.

Town Election. Yesterday, at the nomination, Mr. 4. A. Smith, whose seat in the Council was rendered vacant by his acceptance of otfice as one of the Executive, was proposed for re-election by Mr. Sutton, seconded by Mr, Vautier, and, there hein " no other candidate, was declared duly elected by the Returning Officer. Mr. Smith then briefly thanked the electors.
