IN PURSUANCE of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled “The Provincial Elections Act, 1858,” I, John Curling, Esq., Returning Officer for the Electoral District of the Town of Napier, do hereby give notice that by virtue of a Writ bearing date the 4th day of March, 1863, issued under the hand of His Honor the Superintendent of Hawke’s Bay, an election will be held for the return of ONE qualified person to serve as a member of the Provincial Council of Hawke’s Bay for the said Electoral District in the room of James Wood, Esq., resigned ; and that the nomination of Candidates will take place at the-Court-house, at Napier, on Monday, the 16th March, and that the Poll (if necessary) will take place on Tuesday, the 17th March, and that I will declare the same at the close thereof.
