IN PURSUANCE of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled, “The Provincial Elections Act, 1858,” I, John Curling, Esq, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Napier Country, DO HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that by virtue of a Writ bearing date the 27th of February, 1863, issued under the hand of his His Honor the Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, an election will bo held for the return of ONE qualified person to serve as a member of the Provincial Council of Hawke's Bay for the said Electoral District in lieu of Donald M‘Lcan, Esq., whose seat has become vacant by his acceptance of the office of Superintendent; and that the nomination of candidates will take place at Mr. H. S. Tilfcn’s Barn, Greenmeadows, on hi ox day, the 9th day of March, 1863, and that the Poll (if necessary) will take place on Tuesday, 10th day of March, at noon, and that I will declare the same on Tnn us'd ay, 12th March, at Mr. H.
