IN PURSUANCE of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled, “ The Provincial Elections Act, 1858,” I, Jobn Curling, Esq, Returning Officer for the Electoral District - of the Town of Napier, DO HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that by virtue of a Writ bearing date the 9th of February, 1863, issued under the hand of his His Honor the Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, an election will be held for the return of ONE qualified person to serve as a member of the Provincial Council of Hawke’s Bay for the said Electoral District in the room of William Colenso, Esq., resigned ; and that the nomination of candidates will take place at the Court-house, at Napier, on Tuesday, the 24th February, 1863, and that the Poll (if necessary) will take place on Wednesday, 25th February, and that I will declare the same at the close thereof.
