New Zealand Sheep. —The Argus, of Jan. 1, mentions that Messrs. Dalgety & Co. had sold a ram bred by Mr. F. D. Rich of New Zealand, for the sum of £3OO cash, the purchaser being Mr John Moffat. The Argus believes that this is the highest price ever given in Australia for a single sheep. Feom our Canterbury files wo learn that the Superintendent, Mr. Moorho.use, has resigned office. A contest is anticipated, three or more names being mentioned as probable candidates; J. E, Fitz Gerald, Esq., the M.G.A. for Ellesmere, is understood to bo desirous of the honor, but anxious to avoid a contest.
