LYTTELTON STOCK MARKET.

Mr. W. D. Barnard reports the horse market during the past week to have been steady, with improved prices. Business generally brisker, and firmer. At bis weekly sale last Saturday twentysix saddle and harness horses, imported from Tasmania, were disposed of at prices varying from £lB to £55, at an average of £3O. An imported chesnut gelding, from Nelson, brought £55. I grey gelding was sold for £l6 ; 1 bay horse for £26 ; and 1 bay gelding for £26. 1 pair of working bullocks was disposed of for £39. There are still numerous enquiries for active draught stock, but of saddle and light harness horses the supply i« equal to the demand.— Times, -Jan.
