Lancashire Relief Fund. —We are glad to find that the subscriptions towards the fund for the relief of the suffering operatives in the north of England are still coming in. The Auckland committee have already remitted £1,250 and they are sanguine that a further sum of £SOO will be forthcoming for remittance next mail. This is as it ought to be. Nothing that we can write could pourtray, in their true colors, the miseries to which our fellow-countrymen are subject owing the want of employment from the scarcity of cotton. Our fellowsettlers in Auckland have nobly responded to the appeal made to them and those in the out-settlements have not been slow to exhibit their sympathy with the distressed. — Southern Cross.
