Auckland Stock Market. —The exhibition at Newmarket was on the whole very creditable to the farmers of this province and there was a marked progress in the improvement of the breed of all kinds of Stock. Either from the increase of our population and consequent greater consumption or from the threatening attitude of the natives in the rural districts which deter our stockholders from increasing their Hocks and herds, the high price of beef and mutton is a leading topic amongst our economists. At present there is a brisk demand for those kinds of domestic animals called pensioners ami small bush settlers, especially those who can siiow a warranty attested as genuine on acertain roll; they have greatly advanced in price even double and treble within a week or two and from the anxious enquiries and eager demands of the buyers, an upward tendency is anticipated. We counsel purchasers to beware for not only is the traffic illicit in the eyes of all honorable men, but the stock are sure to decline in value and indeed will be utterly worthless after the 26th inst. About a year ago, there was the same excitement ami insane desire to buy, since which lime until a few days past they have remained in utter insigniticance, and in all our experience we never remember the dealers to escape without one side burning their Hagers, and the honorable on both sides will be sure by such traffic to singe their consciences.—Communicated to the Aucklander ,
