CORRESPONDENCE.

To ihe Editor of the Ilatolce s Bay Times. Sni, —Can you inform me if it is true (as is currently reported) that tlie captain of the s.s. Queen refuses to convey sheep in that vessel, either to Auckland or Otago, except some 200 per trip, which he takes on his own account ? Because I think that if it be true, there is good ground for complaint, considering the heavy subsidy paid bv tlie colony for this service, and the number of sheep we have for sale in the Province—especially as the Queen is said to ho well able to carry 500. It appears very strange that the captain should not only monopolize the trade, but also confine within such narrow limits, when we take into account the prices he obtains for the few he takes. I am, Sir, Yours, &c., A Looker On. 21th November, 18G2.
