(From the Yeoman.J The Californian Farmer publishes (ho following remedies for colic in horses ;—■ “An officer of the United States Na'.w states (hat he has found eighteen drops of croton oil, from his own experience, to be a sovereign euro for cube in horses. “-■V correspondent of the Farmer and Planter writes : “ ‘One pint of salt dissolved in warm water will cure a horse of coho. I have tried it twenty years without, failure.’ “Another remedy mentioned by a correspondent of the Forth-n-eslen Farmer is the following. “‘Take a bed-quilt, wet it thoroughly in cold water, wrap it round the horse, and as it gets hot pour on cold water. 1 have known the lives of horses saved in this way, when the veterinary surgeon said they could not live many minutes, but in fifteen or twenty minutes would be up and eating and sure to get well.” ’
