After experiencing heavy gales, head winds and calms, during the former of which she had to take shelter, she reached f this port on the morning of the 17th. The Excelsior was built by Messrs. Meiklejohn & Sons, of Omaha, the builders of the Victoria, schooner, and Caroline, gunboat. She is a sister ship to the former, and, from her smart appearance may be expected to make quick passages. We bear "that she returns to Auckland with cattle.
