The Aldingo, left Port Chalmers, for Melbourne on, on the 22itd mst. The City of Hobart was entering- the heads as the Airedale was leaving on Sunday last. The Puropcuu and Australian Mails were forwarded by the s.s. Gotienburgh. from Otago at o pan., on the ISth August, she started with a strong head wind, had a long passage of 29 hours to the BhnT; and left with a strong head wind. The Gotienburgh was only 10 hours in Otago, dining which time she discharged her inward cargo, loaded and coaled and was away with the"mails. The Omeo, hy which the mads were to have been forwarded, had had a very long passage from Melbourne to Otago, and arrived there the same day as the Gotlenhurgh, having sailed three days before her.
