ARRIVED. August 19 —Sea Serpent, schooner, 60 tons, Blair, from Wellington with 25 cases porter, 25 do. ale, 5 hhds ale, 10 cases British gin, 4 cases claret, 10 do. sherry, 15 eases geneva, 4 i-casks rum, 1 case, 1 box, 21 cases Oilman’s stores, 5 hhds. ale, 1 case saddlery, 1 bale twine, 3 casks white lead, 1 do. red paint, 5 drums boiled oil, 5 do. raw oil, 1 cask driers, 2 bales wrappingpaper, 1 do. paper bags, 4 tons salt, 4 chests tea, 1 ton soap, 1 crate, 2 pockets hops, 20,000 Y.D. L. shingles, 3,000 ft. timber, Y. J iiniseh ; 15 tons coals, Maltby & Co.; 1 box soap, Capt. Carter ; 1 hhd. groceries, 1 cask rice, 1 sack soda, Gr. S. Cooper. Passengers,—Mr. Knight and three others. SAILED. August 13 —Storm Bird, s. s., 104 tons, Mundle, for Wellington, with part of cargo from Wellington. Passengers—Miss Moir, Hon. H. Kussell, M.L.C., Messrs. Maltby, Begg, Smith, and Watt.—Stuart, Kinross, & Co., agents. The s.s. Storm Bird, Captain Mundle left Wellington on Tuesday the 12th, at 10 a.m., and arrived at Napier on Wednesday, at 3 30 p.m., left.at 10 p.m. same date, and arrived at Wellington on Friday, at 11 a.m.; the whole of the voyage had moderate -winds from S.E. to S.S.W., with a very high sea. This is the quickest run ever made between Wellington and Hawke’s Bay, the time occupied being 73 hours. The Storm Bird will leave for Wanganui on next Friday.
