The report says that upwards of GOO persons have joined the expedition ; and that since the Ist of January, about 2,000 more have notified “that they expect to be able to join.” Those 600 settlers consist of the following denominations, viz :—lndependents, Baptists, \Vesleyans, Episcopalians, Presbyterians, Primitive Christians, &c. All professions arc represented therein —a minister, physician, surgeon, solicitor, surveyor, auctioneer, and a professor of music ; a printer from Castleford, Yorkshire, will take out types and presses for (ho commencement of a newspaper. The various building and mechanical trades are included, and the female department of labour is represented by dairy-maids, milliners, &c. It is proposed to name the young colony (which will consist of about, 1000 souls) “Albertland” or “Albertshirc,” in memory of the Prince Consort. The settlement is about seventy miles from Auckland. —Nem Zealand Advertiser, June 18th.
