Mr. Danvehs held his first sale at the Meanee Hotel yards, yesterday. Although the weather was very unpropitious, the attendance of buyers was good. Owing to the bad state of the rords, several lots of cattle were not able to arrive ; but what were offered fetched above average prices. The market for cattle is evidently rising. A few horses were offered, only one of which was sold at £B. The pigs (progeny of prize imported stock by Mr. Harland) were offered, but no buyers pppeered; one weaner boar was bought 'by Mr. Danvers privately for £3. He speaks highly of the stock, as being the finest he has seeu in the colony. A few are yet unsold. Mr. Danvers intends holding regular monthly sales on the first Wednesday in every month, and from the expression of support received from the settlers in the district, h ire son to believe it will become the mo:t important sale yard in the Province. The next sale will take place on "Wedneiday, the 6th August.
