Thf. Murder ax the Waxroa.— ln confirmation of the rumor of this oocurrance, reported in our last, we subjoin the following extract from a letter received by a gentleman of this town from the Wairoa—‘‘A native ha? been drowning his wife, and was tried hero last week by the natives ; but all the 'whites were present. The natives found him guilty, and would 'have shot him, only they appealed to the* whiles., nineteen in number, and we said the case in our law was not proved against him, and Coho said lie thought we were right, and he should not be shot ; so he is in gaol waiting the decision of the Bishop.”
