ECLIPSE. To the Jiditor of the Daily Southern Cross. Sin,—l find, by reference to tlie Church Almanac of the present year, that a total eclipse of the moon is calculated to take place on Thursday, 12th ol next month (June), visible in Hew Zealand. As this may not be generally known, (it not being mentioned as visible in this country in the Abie Zealand Almanac), and, as a total eclipse is a subject of interest, I send you the following particulars : ° Juno 12—A total eclipse of the moon, visible in Xcw Zealand. Eirst contact with the penumbra—3h 2m p.ni. before the moon has risen. Eirst contact with the shadow—Hi 22m, the moon being then just above the horizon. Loginning of totality—oh 29m p.m. Middle of the eclipse—(ih Om. End ot totality—(3h 32m p.m. Last contact with the shadow—-7h 39m. End of the eclipse—Sh 35m.
