PRESENTATION TO THE QUEEN.
In last issue wo noted the despatch of the escritoire, manufactured in Auckland by Mr. Scufert, and intended by the subscribers in this city for presentation to the Queen. We have since seen the address, which is on vellnme, surrounded by a border illustrative of the flora and landscape of this province of Now Zealand. Tho address has been engrossed by Mr. Hcapy, and reflects the highest credit upon that gentleman. It is ns follows : To Her Majesty the Queen, — “ May it please Your Majesty, “ Wo, your Majesty’s loyal subjects, resident in the Province of Auckland, New Zealand, humbly beg to assure your Majesty of our deep and dutiful attachment to your Majesty’s Person and Throne. “We send from your Majesty’s most remote
possession a cabinet of local workmanship, intended to exhibit the indigenous Woods of New Zea» land, and of which we most humbly beg your Majesty’s acceptance." - It Will bear the signatures of the Auckland Commission; His Excellency Sir G. Grey, K.C. 8., Governor; His Honor John Williamson, Esq., Superintendent; Charles Heapy, Esq., President; Hr. Fisher, G-. P. Pierce, Esq., R. Patterson’, Esq., E. B. Dickson Esq., E. King, Esq., G. Webster, Esq., Commissioners, together with the names of the Subscribers. —Southern Cross, April 11.
