Zir, —I zaw that chap Donaldson’s lettur in the Herald to-day and it struck I that we ought to just make un our Superintendent, vor he bees a rale zharp coon and zeems to be the rale vriend ov uz workin men. Why zur doant you know az how they zays az how he got vifty pound vrom young Yannens vor gettin mister Cambell to get a zheep run vor Yannens, and he didn’t give nothink to Cambell vor doin the work, then there iz the t,other jobs, doant he understau makin money out ov the government vor doin nothink, zo that az our vriend and champion he might lead uz to zurawhere to look vor gold, and in case iv the gold wur got he az our leader ud be entitled to the vive hundred pounds what the connzil iz to vote vor the vinder, and what would hinder the natives learnin engiizh by[therzelves while he woz off on zuch a praizworthy trip az zeekin vor gold, then
