This memorial of the inhabitants of Havelock and surrounding country, sheweth that the road through the Town and Suburban district of Havelock is in a very imperfect state, and that during the winter months the said roads are in parts almost impassable ; also that, during the late rainy seasons accidents to horses, bullocks, and vehicles have frequently occurred therefrom ; and unless some immediate steps be taken this summer, the road taking the direction of To Ante must and will become totally impassable dining the coining winter. °

Your petitioners therefore trust that at the next meeting of the Council such sums may be placed on the Estimates as the Provincial Engineer may think sufficient for carrying out the suggested improvements.
