December 31— Storm Bird, s.s., 104 tons, Mundle for Wellington and Southern Provinces. ’ The s.s. Storm Bird, Captain Mundle, from Otago and Lyttelton, in port on Monday morning with about 80 passengers, the most of whom are returned diggers who have come up to spend their Christmas holidays in Wellington. She left Otago on Thursday last and called at Lyttelton, where she remained 24 hours, and landed 30 passengers. She has also brought up 250 ounces of gold, and it is estimated that the passengers hare between £12,000 and £15,000 amongst them. Thebarque Fanny Fisher, Captain Smith, arrived in port on Monday night from Sydney, after a quick passage of 10 days, having left there on the 13th inst., up to which time the English Mail had not been telegraphed as having arrived at Adelaide or Melbourne, so we are not likely to receive our portion of the mail before the end of the week. The barque lias brought a cargo of general merchandise and 140 tons coals, a portion of which is for Lyttelton, whither she proceeds as soon as she has discharged her Wellington cargo.
