ELECTION NOTICE. ELECTORAL DISTRICT OF PORANGAHAU. IN PURSUANCE of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled “ The Provincial Elections Act, 1858,” I, William Henry Hunter, Esquire, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Porangahau, do hereby give notice that by virtue of a writ bearing date the seventh day of December, 1861, issued under the hand of His Honor the Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, an Election will be held for the return of one qualified person to serve as a member of the Provincial Council of Hawke’s Bay for the said Electoral District, and that the nomination of Candidates will take place at Messrs. Hunter’s Woolshed, Porangahau, on the 30th day of December, 1861 ; and that the Poll (if necessary) will be taken on the 2nd day of January, 1862, and the state of the Poll declared on the 4th day of January, 1862.
