Sir, —In the Heralds issue of the fH.li hist., the Editor iu his leader says, " Last year a considerable accession was made to the funds of the Napier Athenaeum and Mechanic's Institute. by the proceeds of a concert given for this object, by the Napier Choral Society,'’ and as such a statement is contrary to fact and the Society above-named having- no wish to claim such a distinction for their helpingservices, I beg to state that the Napier Choral Society neither gave a concert nor funds for any such purpose.
