IN PURSUANCE of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of Ncw Zealand, intituled “The Provincial Elections Act, 1858,” I, William Henry Hunter, Esquire, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Porangaliau, do hereby give notice that by virtue of a Writ bearing date the sixteenth day of October 1861, issued under the hand of His Honor the Superintendent of the Province of Hawke's Bay, an election will be held for the return of one qualified person to serve as a member for the Provincial Council of Hawke’s Bay for the said Electoral District, and that the nomination of candidates will take place at Porangaliau, on the eleventh day of November, 1861; and that the Poll (if necessary) will be taken on the thirteenth day of November, 1861, and the state of the Poll declared on the fifteenth day of November, 1861.
