CORRESPONDENCE.

To the JEditor of the Hawlcds Bay Times. Sir, —In reading over the Herald of last Saturday, I observed the rather vicious rejdy of “ Civis” to my letter of the 3rd instant. In reply thereto, I have to inform “ Civis ” that I am perfectly satisfied with his reply, although I wish he had not made use of so much Latin or French (I'm blessed if I know the difference between the two), for I should like very much to know the meaning of that ancient warning of which he speaks. I am, Sir, Yours truly, Veritas. Napier, July 31, 1861.
