Onr readers will perceive by our advertising columns that the brig alonte/niiaii icaives this port, uu Friday, for Sydney, via Auckland and tVhangaroa, where she will load with timber for the Australian market. She will return (limit from Sydney with cargo for Napier; and should suflieient indueemeul oiler, will continue her trips to and fro betwixt Sydney and tin* port as a, v.'i'iilm.. her sizu and light draught of water, siie is in every way suitable for our trade, and we trust sincerely that Captain Ale.lntyro will receive every encouragement from our mercantile community. Ly the S.S. Lord AVorsloy, which arrived on Sunday morning, wo received a visit from onr old friend Caption Kennedy has endeared himself by his skill as a seaman, ami ids gentlemanly and courteous demeanor at sill times. Should the Lord AVorsley, again be laid on for Napier, it is probable that Cant. Kennedy, from his superior knowledge of tlie coast, will command her.
