PARTY FOR CHILDREN GIVEN BY GUILD
A deliglitful Christmas party was •given to the children Dy the Port Ahuriri Townswomen's Guild during the holiday. Games and competitions were the order of the afternoon and all entered into the fun. Between items icecream was greatly appreciated. Afternoon tea was served, the tables looking veYy gay. A special feature was the huge Christmas cake. All did full justice to the good things to eat. After tea, opportunity was taken of making presentations to Mesdames Sutherland and Dorset, retiring chairman and secretary. Mrs. Cameron spoke on the good work each had done for the guild since its foundation. Mrs. Sutherland suitahly replied, Mrs. Dorset being unavoidably absent. Then came gift time, e^ch child receiving a present and bag of lollies. ' ' For they are Jolly Good Fellows ' ' was sung heartily by the kiddies, led by Mr. Cameron, and with three cheers for the Guild, the party came to a close.
